Worker killed after getting crushed by skid loader

At a work site, there are many things happening at the same time. Workers may be operating equipment while others are on the ground, digging or laying down foundation. Depending on the work environment, employees can be at risk of sustaining an injury.

But some injuries can be more severe than others. For example, if a worker is crushed by a heavy piece of equipment or vehicle, the injuries could cause permanent disability or even death. One man died earlier this week when he was run over by a skid loader.

The incident occurred while he was at work. It was not made clear what the man’s actual job was or what he had been working on at the time. Local law enforcement also has not given any information in regard to how the fatal accident occurred. It is currently under investigation.

When responders arrived at the scene, they tried to help him. He was immediately airlifted to a nearby medical center to deal with the shock trauma. Unfortunately his injuries were too severe and he died a few hours later.

Losing a loved one in a work-related accident can be devastating. Often family members will wonder why the accident occurred and whether it could have been prevented. And in addition to dealing with the grief that comes with an unexpected death, families also have to deal with some of the financial implications.

Perhaps the worker was the sole provider for a family. His or her loved ones may wonder how they will survive without the financial support.
