Dangerous jobs and workers’ comp

Some workers put themselves in dangerous situations routinely. Not every profession has the same risk level; some are more treacherous than others. Workers involved in particular industries may need to be careful to avoid injuries. Filing for workers’ compensation could be an option if they get hurt at their Colorado job.

Most dangerous jobs

It may not be a surprise that loggers and people working in the hunting and fishing industry face significant risks. Many lack familiarity with the many hazards associated with these outdoor professions, and there are many. Even the weather adds to the dangers.

Roofing, construction, steelwork, and mining professionals all face injury risks. Falls from heights or mishaps with tools could leave workers in these professions with severe injuries.

Anyone operating a vehicle could become involved in an accident. Professional tractor-trailer and delivery drivers may dodge accidents on the road many timers per week. Trash and recycling collection professionals deal with traffic and accident-related risks and dangers associated with refuse collection. For example, lifting a heavy trash can might result in a back injury.

Police officers and first responders face unknown dangers when on calls. In a way, so do agricultural workers. Ultimately, all workers have to be careful in all professions.

Workers’ comp points

All professions come with risks. Slip-and-fall accidents might be among the most common ways employees suffer injuries in the workplace. Regardless of where someone works, there’s always a chance that they may trip or fall. Employees may need to file for workers’ compensation benefits when they get hurt.

Concerns may arise when a workers’ compensation claim receives a denial letter. An appeals process exists for those who do not receive approval on the initial claim. Successfully appealing the initial decision could open doors for the claimant to receive their funds.
